Criminal Practice Seminar video - Expert Evidence and Bail Applications in the Supreme Court
The Criminal Practice Seminar conducted on 25 November 2025 examined:
- The recently amended Supreme Court Practice Direction 14 of 2024 , dealing with expert evidence in criminal proceedings; and
- A new procedure for all bail and dangerous prisoner applications in the Supreme Court – Supreme Court Practice Direction 6 of 2025 .
Given PD 14 of 2024 applies to indictments presented on or after 15 July 2024, its operation is now coming into full effect.
The new procedure for bail and dangerous prisoner applications will commence on 27 January 2026.
