Preparing your case
Getting legal assistance
Court staff can help you with general procedural matters regarding your appeal, specifically:
- filing of court documents
- enquiries about the dates and times for appeal hearings.
Court staff can’t:
- give you legal advice
- make recommendations about your case
- advise you on what to say when you present your case.
Using the Supreme Court Library
As a ‘self-represented litigant’, you can use the Supreme Court Library Queensland (SCLQ) but you must sign the visitor book.
Library staff will direct you to where information is located but they can’t:
- conduct research for you
- give you legal advice
- recommend what you should do regarding your case.
The library is located on Level 12 of QEII Courts of Law Complex and is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.00pm except on public and court holidays.
See the Supreme Court Library Queensland.
