Admission - Oaths and affirmations

The following are the oaths/affirmations of allegiance and office taken or made by applicants on their admission as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Queensland.

Oath of allegiance

do sincerely promise and swear, that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance, to His Majesty King Charles the Third, as lawful sovereign of Australia, and his other realms and territories, and to his heirs and successors, according to law.

So help me God.


Oath of office

do sincerely promise and swear that I will truly and honestly conduct myself, in the practice of a lawyer of this court, according to law to the best of my knowledge and ability.

So help me God.


Affirmation of allegiance

I, _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

do solemnly and sincerely promise and affirm, that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance, to His Majesty King Charles the Third, as lawful sovereign of Australia, and his other realms and territories, and to his heirs and successors, according to law.
