Supreme Court (Court of Appeal) registry

The Court of Appeal registry is at the QEII Courts Complex, 415 George Street, Brisbane.

It is open on weekdays, except for public and court holidays. The opening hours are:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8.30 am to 4.30 pm
Wednesday: 9.30 am to 4.30 pm

You can file documents at the registry during these hours from Monday to Friday (except on public and court holidays). You can also send documents by mail to the Registrar at PO Box 15167, CITY EAST QLD 4002.

In urgent situations, the registry can open after hours, but only if a registrar approves it. You will need to pay a fee when it opens.

What the registry does

  • Manages appeals: handles appeals from start to finish.
  • Refers complex issues: sends difficult matters to the Court for advice.
  • Notifies outcomes: informs parties and government agencies about the results of appeals.
  • Keeps records: maintains official Court records.
