QCase is a secure online portal for managing civil claims in the Queensland Magistrates Court.

It allows legal professionals, self-represented litigants, and other users to file, view, and handle cases online.

Alternative option

Users can also lodge Magistrates Court documents via Confirm , an eFiling system managed by external supplier CITEC.

QCase offers court users a more streamlined interaction with the courts, with greater functionality and guided forms that can be completed directly within the portal.

Getting started

To use QCase, you’ll need to register with a Queensland Digital Identity (QDI).

This ensures secure access to the portal and protects your information.

Steps to get started:

  1. Set Up Your Digital ID.  Find out how
  2. Log into QCase and complete the account registration process.
  3. Complete guided forms directly within the portal or upload pre-prepared forms (see checklist below).
  4. Follow the portal’s instructions to finalise and lodge your documents.
  5. Use QCase to track the progress of your filing.

Checklist for filing

Before lodging in QCase, make sure:

  • you’ve selected and completed the correct form(s); some forms are ‘guided’, meaning the portal will walk you through a step-by-step process to complete them
  • you have the case file number if responding to or joining an existing case
  • all supporting documents are in an approved format (.doc, .pdf, .jpg, etc) and under 100MB each
  • payment details are ready if a filing fee applies
  • if applying for a fee waiver, you’ve completed the waiver application and gathered supporting materials.

Firm administration

Legal firms and organisations can manage their users and cases through QCase’s ‘Firm administration’ feature. Firm administrators can:

  • register their organisation and add users
  • assign cases to specific users
  • manage user permissions and access levels.

Public access and privacy

QCase allows public access to certain case documents, subject to approval. Users can:

  • search for cases by name or file number
  • request to view or copy documents
  • download approved documents directly from the portal.

Note that privacy laws and court orders may restrict access to some documents.
