The Land Court of Queensland works to ensure transparency while protecting the confidentiality of court proceedings.
Parties to a proceeding have an automatic right to inspect and copy filed documents and exhibits. A party can contact the Land Court registry directly to arrange inspection.
Non-parties need to submit a formal request for access to court files.
This request is required under the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules 1999 (rules 975H and 975I for filed documents and rules 448A and 448B for exhibits).
The registrar reviews each request to ensure it complies with privacy laws and procedural fairness and notifies the applicant of the outcome.
To request access, complete Form 25 – Request to access court file (DOC, 86.0 KB) and include:
There is no inspection fee for all parties and non-parties submitting a request to access a court file. However, all applicants are required to pay office copy fees if you request copies of documents.
