If you’re a party to a criminal case in Queensland’s Supreme, District, or Magistrates Court, you can use the lookup tool (below) to find information about your upcoming court event.

Court case vs court event

A ‘court case’ refers to the overall legal matter being heard in court.

A ‘court event’ refers to specific proceedings or hearings within the case (e.g. sentencing, adjournments).

Included matters

The lookup tool provides details on court events for cases involving:

  • criminal offences (including indictable and summary offences)
  • traffic offences (serious breaches, not minor infringements)
  • applications for special hardship orders
  • applications for work licences.

Excluded matters

Some cases are not searchable online, including those involving matters with legislative or court-ordered suppression of information (e.g. domestic and family violence).

Can’t find a case?

If you can’t find the criminal case you’re looking for:

  • Double-check the details you’ve entered.
  • If the case still doesn’t appear, contact the court registry where the court event is being held.

Applying online to the Magistrates Court

If you’re a lawyer or prosecuting agency involved in a criminal matter listed in the Magistrates Court, you can apply online for a date change, direction, or order.

Changing your court event date

If you’re representing yourself and need to change your court event date, contact the court registry where the event is being held.

Pleading guilty online

If you’re required to appear in a Magistrates Court for a minor offence (e.g. traffic infringement), you may be able to plead guilty online and avoid attending court.
