Report court security concerns

If there’s a crime happening or someone is in immediate danger, you should act straight away. Notify security or court staff, call 000 (Triple Zero), or use your duress alarm.

Court Services Queensland relies on information to understand threats to the justice process and to stay informed about security concerns at the courts.

By identifying people who may want to cause harm or disrupt court proceedings, and assessing their ability to do so, we can better understand and manage the risks. Reporting security concerns early helps us see potential issues and take action when needed.

Who should report a security concern?

We encourage all court users - including lawyers, government agencies, volunteer and support groups, and court staff - to notify Court Services Queensland of security concerns.

What should I report?

Even if you think the risk is small or unimportant, your report could be a vital piece of information. Trust your instincts and report anything that seems concerning if you:

  • Become aware of any court security concerns, risks, or threats.
  • Need extra security measures for court matters, in line with relevant practice directions.
  • Notice any suspicious activity.

How do I report a security concern?

If there is an immediate security threat contact the court registrar, Queensland Police Service, or court security straight away.

Otherwise, use the Court security information report to notify Court Services Queensland of security concerns.
