This year’s theme, Grown and Generated: A New Era of Rural Resilience, explores the opportunities and challenges shaping regional Queensland.

The official program will be released shortly – stay tuned!

Proceedings will commence on Thursday 20 August with lunch at 12:30 pm.

The afternoon program will feature presentations from a range of speakers, including Member McNamara and Mayor Kathy Duff of the South Burnett Regional Council. Member Loos will moderate a solicitors’ panel discussing the preparation of expert evidence. The day will conclude with a stakeholder ‘quick-fire’ session examining recent developments affecting the Land Court’s jurisdiction.

Friday’s sessions will commence at 8:30 am and bring together a distinguished panel of legal and government leaders, including leading barristers, The Honourable Deborah Frecklington MP, Attorney-General of Queensland, and President Stilgoe OAM. The program will also feature a discussion between The Honourable Justice Pain (NSW Land and Environment Court) and Professor Anthony Cassimatis (UQ) on the recent International Court of Justice advisory opinion and its broader significance.

Guests are invited to attend an informal dinner at the Kingaroy RSL on Thursday evening at their own expense.

Conference registration includes lunch on Thursday and morning tea on Friday, providing opportunities to connect with colleagues throughout the program.

Dietary requirements can be catered for at both mealtimes.

Coffee is available for purchase at nearby cafes including Glendon Street Café and Hunter Gatherer Traders.

Please note that accommodation is not included as part of the conference.

Attendees are responsible for arranging and covering their own accommodation and travel expenses.
