Right to information

The Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) allows people to access government information unless releasing it would go against the public interest.

You can apply for information through the Department of Justice. However, some documents can’t be accessed through an RTI application. This includes documents related to a court or a judicial officer that are connected to the court’s judicial work.

If you want to search, copy, or view information from a court file, you can apply directly at the courthouse. Some court cases have strict rules about sharing information, so it’s best to contact the courthouse for more details.

Disclosure log

The disclosure log is a record of documents released to applicants under the RTI Act.
