Protect All Children Today (PACT)

If you would like to become a volunteer in the court, contact Protect All Children Today (PACT) which provides free support and information to help victims and witnesses understand court processes.

PACT support volunteers can:

  • provide support and information about what happens before, during or after court
  • explain how the courts and legal systems operate
  • help to arrange access to a secure room if required
  • assist victims to complete Victim Impact Statements
  • talk to court users on their day of court either before or after their matter has been heard.

Queensland Homicide Victims Support Group (QHVSG)

Since its inception in 1995, QHVSG volunteers have provided support to members who have lost a loved one to homicide.

Its volunteers support the health and wellbeing of its members in court by showing empathy and compassion for their loss, holding space or simply familiarising members with the court environment.

Volunteers provide court support in various ways, such as:

  • in person support for members during committal hearings, trials and sentencing
  • liaising with stakeholders
  • connecting with members over the telephone
  • administrative support.

QHVSG provides statewide services to support people in the aftermath of homicide.
