Magistrates Court - Greater Brisbane COVID response arrangements

Magistrates Courts – Greater Brisbane COVID response arrangements

The following arrangements have been made for the Magistrates Courts at Brisbane, Beenleigh, Cleveland, Holland Park Ipswich, Pine Rivers, Redcliffe, Richlands, Sandgate, Wynnum and Caboolture for Monday 11 January and Brisbane Arrest Courts for 9 and 11 January 2021.

The Registries and Courthouses in these locations will not be open to the public.

In these locations physical appearances WILL NOT be required. Instead all matters will be heard via telephone or videoconference on this day. All hearings will be adjourned. Parties wanting a matter before the court are to contact the relevant registry. For urgent matters outside normal registry business hours, the existing after-hours arrangements remain in place.

Media representatives can also access court matters via telephone or videoconference.

If there is a requirement for urgent filing to be completed, please email the documentation. Messaging will also be on the Courthouse doors and websites which will provide contact information so that filing of urgent documents can be completed.

As Queensland Health announces further updates, practitioners will be notified of any impact on the Magistrates Courts. It is recommended practitioners monitor the Queensland Courts website during this period.
