Christmas closure - Supreme, District and Magistrates Courts registries

Supreme and District Courts

The registries of the Supreme and District Courts at Brisbane, Cairns, Rockhampton and Townsville will be closed on and from Monday, 23 December 2019 to and including Friday, 3 January 2020.  These days have been designated Court holidays pursuant to:

Opening of the registry for urgent matters only can be arranged by contacting the security staff of the Supreme and District Courts at Brisbane on (07) 3738 7744.

Magistrates Court

Magistrates Court registries will be closed over the Christmas / New Year period from Monday, 23 December 2019 up to and including Friday, 3 January 2020. The court holidays are as designated by Magistrates Court Practice Direction 2 of 2019 (PDF, 156.8 KB).

While court registries will be closed over the Christmas/New Year period, the following courts will have an appointed magistrate and clerk in attendance for police applications, urgent domestic violence applications, bail applications, arrest matters and to attend to any on-call matters: Brisbane Arrest Court, Cairns, Southport, Toowoomba, Maryborough, Rockhampton and Townsville.
