Commonwealth Games - Court changes

During the Commonwealth Games, the following changes will occur between 26 March and 15 April 2018:

Magistrates Court

Beaudesert From 3-15 April, non-operational with all arrest matters to be dealt with in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court
Beenleigh From 3-15 April, one arrest court and one domestic violence court to hear urgent domestic violence matters
Coolangatta From 3-15 April, non-operational with all arrest matters to be dealt with in the Southport Magistrates Court
Southport From 3-15 April, one arrest court and one domestic violence court to hear urgent domestic violence matters
All other Magistrates Courts From 3-15 April, there will be no hearings involving police
  Contested sentences (without police witnesses), lengthy sentences, civil matters, domestic violence mentions and applications, and other matters not involving police (e.g. Traffic matters where there are no police witnesses required) will proceed in these courts during this period.

District Court

Beenleigh There will be no sittings from the week beginning 26 March 2018 for three weeks (ending 15 April 2018)
Southport There will be no sittings from the week beginning 26 March 2018 for three weeks (ending 15 April 2018)
All other District Courts There will be no criminal trials from the week beginning 26 March 2018 for three weeks (ending 15 April 2018)
