Contact and location information
The Supreme Court registries across Queensland are open for general business on weekdays (except public and court holidays). Check with your local courthouse for specific opening times.
The Brisbane registry may be opened after hours in urgent situations but a deputy registrar must authorise the opening. An opening fee is charged when authorisation is given and must be paid at the time of the opening.
Supreme Court registries are located in Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton and Brisbane with additional regional registries throughout Queensland.
Documents can be filed in Supreme Court registries between 9:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public and court holidays), or may be mailed to the registrar of the Supreme Court in your local area. Once a proceeding is commenced, all further documents must be filed in that registry.
