Magistrates Court - Criminal
Courts Innovation Programs (CIP) and diversionary initiatives relate to both bail and sentencing options that provide opportunities for behavioural change and treatment of the influences of offending behaviour. CIP has two specific service delivery areas: Indigenous Justice Programs and Diversion and Referral Services. The initiatives developed by these two areas seek to address the underlying causes of offending behaviour by implementing programs and diversionary initiatives that link defendants with health, cultural and social services.

- Queensland Illicit Drug Diversion Program
- Queensland Magistrates Early Referral into Treatment Program
CIP is also involved in the development of other initiatives and strategies that assist the Queensland Courts Service in delivering divisional goals. Some of those strategies involve the review of structures and the delivery of systems that will increase access to justice and improve the service delivery of Courts and there associated programs.
