Q150 Historical Trail
Queensland Courts
The Queensland Courts Q150 Historical Trail provides an opportunity for all Queenslanders to explore the significant historical and cultural contribution that courthouses have made to our state’s development. The historical trail forms part of the State Government’s Q150 celebrations which commemorate Queensland’s 150 years of independence from New South Wales as a colony.
The theme for Q150 is reflect on our past, imagine our future. Q150 celebrations will be based around the four broad themes of history, people, places and future.
The historical trail will help Queenslanders:
- explore the history of twelve significant Queensland courthouses
- recognise the people who have played a significant role in the history and development of each courthouse
- detail how each courthouse (places) has changed over time
- record the information for future generations.
All Queenslanders are encouraged to help preserve this history by contributing to a Wikipedia entry for each courthouse.
