Obtain a trial date - civil
I have filed my request for allocation of a trial date form via email. How will I know when the trial date has been allocated?
The civil list manager will notify you by email when your trial date has been allocated.
(District Court only) The date will also appear on the callover list next to your trial details.
How can I request a trial date if I don't have internet access or a computer? (Supreme Court)
You can contact the Civil List Manager on 07 3247 4311, fax: 07 3224 7408 or at P.O. Box 15167, City East, Qld, 4002. The Civil List Manager can advise you of available dates for trial. You must then advise the Civil List Manager in writing of three available dates, agreed between the parties.
How can a matter be vacated?
Trial dates can only be vacated by the order of a judge or if the matter has been discontinued.
What should I do if the matter settles before the trial/hearing date?
You should advise the civil list manager in writing if the matter has settled.
Which judge will be allocated to hear our trial?
Judges will be allocated on the Friday before the trial begins. However, this allocation may change if other matters settle or a judge is no longer available.
How can I arrange additional courtroom facilities for the trial in the District Court?
You should contact the civil list manager in the week before your trial if you require additional facilities such as teleconferencing, videoconferencing, laptops or general interpreter services.

You should contact the civil list manager in the week before your trial if you require additional facilities such as teleconferencing, videoconferencing, laptops or general interpreter services.
What if the parties cannot agree on trial dates? (Supreme Court)
The matter will be set down before the Senior Judge Administrator. The civil list manager will advise all parties by email or telephone of the date for this review. At the review, the matter will be listed for trial unless exceptional circumstances exist.
What if my case takes more than five days? (Supreme Court)
If the estimate provided on the Request for Trial Date is more than five days, the request will be referred to the supervised case list manager, ph: 07 3247 4317, fax: 07 3224 7408, email: supcasemanager@justice.qld.gov.au.
