Queensland Illicit Drug Court Diversion Program - criminal
Read the Court Diversion Program brochure (link to saved brochure) carefully.
Attend a Queensland Magistrates or Childrens Court (if you are less than 17 years of age).
Ask to see a Court Diversion Officer or Legal Aid Duty Solicitor who will fill in the eligibility assessment form with you and explain the procedure.
The officer will provide a copy of the form to the court and make an appointment for you with a magistrate.
Do not leave the court. A magistrate will determine whether you are eligible for the program.
If you are suitable, the magistrate will place you on a recognisance order and direct you to attend a pre-arranged drug assessment and education session.
Sign the recognisance order when you leave the court. If you leave without signing the recognisance, a warrant may be issued for your arrest.
Attend the session at the agreed time and place.
