You can apply to the court to be exempted from paying court filing fees if you are experiencing financial hardship.The court registrar may, by order, exempt you if they believe it is fair, reasonable and justified.
This exemption can be approved quickly and without extensive investigation. However, even if you are exempted from paying the filing fee you must still pay the appeal costs fund fee.
If your request for an exemption is refused, you will have to pay the appropriate fee when you lodge the court documents initiating your proceedings.
