How do I obtain copies of court transcripts?
Unless the court decides otherwise, a transcript for matters heard in the Court of Appeal, and the Supreme and District Courts can be obtained by completing an order form and paying the fee.
| Email the form with a request for advice about the fee (if applicable) to SRB.transcripts@justice.qld.gov.au or post it to the SRB, GPO Box 873, Brisbane, Qld 4001. The SRB will contact you to advise of the fee and make arrangements for payment. | |
| Step 2 | You can pay by credit card if you contact the SRB by email. You may also pay by EFTPOS or with money at the Brisbane Supreme and District Court Registry. |

In Brisbane, if you wish to pick up or order a transcript in person, go to the Supreme and District Courts registry on the Ground Floor, Law Courts Complex, 304 George Street, Brisbane. Otherwise the transcript will be posted to you. Can I read a transcript? Transcripts can be viewed free of charge at your nearest State Reporting Bureau office (weblink). You should contact the SRB in advance so the transcript is available when you arrive. |

Magistrates Courts
How do I obtain a transcript of a Magistrates Court proceeding?
You can obtain a transcript of criminal or quasi-criminal matters in the Magistrates Court if you are deemed by the registrar to have sufficient interest in the matter.

You must write to the registrar of the courthouse where the matter was heard applying for a copy of the transcript. The letter should include:

The letter should be delivered or posted to the appropriate Magistrates Court and an estimate of the fee is available on request. |
| Step 3 | You will be contacted when the transcript is available for collection. |

Other courts and tribunals
What other court and tribunal cases are transcribed?
Transcripts are available at the State Reporting Bureau for the following tribunals and courts:
- Planning and Environment Court
- Health Practitioners Tribunal
- Childrens Court of Queensland
- Mental Health Tribunal
- Land Appeal Court.
Transcripts for matters heard in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission or Anti-Discrimination Tribunal can be obtained directly from those tribunals.
How do I obtain a transcript from these other courts and tribunals?
Contact the court or tribunal directly to obtain transcripts of their proceedings.
Generally, if a transcript is completed, it can be read at any of the State Reporting Bureau offices throughout Queensland, free of charge.
